Elementary School

Music for Grades Primary 1 through Grades 5:

The four major components of our Elementary Music program are: movement to all kinds of music, singing and chanting songs, playing pitched and non-pitched instruments and dramatization of music from around the world. This philosophy is based on the Orff-Schulwerk method of teaching music to children, which incorporates: full participation in the musical experience, time allowed for creative problem solving, and the preparation of a musical performance. This curriculum is supported with a music textbook from McGraw-Hill entitled "Share The Music". Each year, students also take part in an all-elementary musical production.
