Lincoln School Kathmandu Earthquake Relief Fund - Description
The fund was begun with encouragement from individual and institutional friends of the School who were looking to support the people of Nepal after the earthquake. In particular, it was hoped that the School would use the funds to support people and projects in long-standing relationships with Lincoln students.
The fund will be administered using the same processes and oversight mechanisms as the school budget to ensure transparency and the fund will not be used to pay any administrative costs.
The uses of the fund have been prioritized as:
1. Providing immediate material aid to Lincoln School local support staff - our drivers, custodian and guards - who are in need.
2. Providing immediate material aid to Explore Nepal host communities in need. These are communities with whom we have had a long-term relationship and who have taken care of our students during their Explore Nepal trips.
3. Providing longer-term support to our local support staff as they recover from the damage caused by the earthquake.
4. Providing longer-term support to our Explore Nepal host communities as they recover from the damage caused by the earthquake.
