Writing – Narrative Stories

Begin by thinking of a story to write about.

Next, by using their storyteller voice to state who, where, and what happened.

While telling what happened in the story, the writer should be drawing a quick picture on each page to remind him/her what is happening on that page. Then he/she will go back to add more details to the picture, labels, and begin to write the words. Words may be just one letter, a symbol, squiggly lines, or more! Be patient with your writer as they continue to develop their skills.
