High School PE Practices Water Rescues

The final week of the High School Aquatics curriculum focused on some of the more technical aspects of water safety and water rescues. At the beginning of the week, students reviewed and practiced the different water safety levels before moving into the classroom to receive training from Nurse Marsha in CPR and AED use and protocol. The final class of the unit focused on spinal management with students learning how to deal with suspected spinal casualties. This included learning how to perform log rolls, vice-grip rolls and back-boarding. Well done to the HS PE students who now possess these potentially life-saving skills!
