Middle School

Experiences

The successful Lincoln Middle School program provides middle-level learners with the key components of the middle school experience as defined by the Association of Middle Level Education (AMLE)

Lincoln School has implemented an enriched and holistic educational experience in the Middle School. This experience strongly emphasizes our students’ well-rounded development, building on our programs’ strengths and current best practices.

These changes will contribute to their academic growth, well-being, and creativity. Here are some of the key benefits of the new middle school schedule:

Strategically placed Active and Social Time within the Schedule:

Dedicated time for social interactions and physical activity is incorporated throughout the day, allowing students to connect with their peers, build friendships, and stay active. This time is essential for fostering community and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Access to Nutrition Throughout the Day:

We recognize the nutritional importance of supporting our student’s learning and growth. Our new schedule includes multiple times for nutritious snacks and meals, ensuring that your students have the energy and focus they need to excel academically and engage fully in their activities.

Year-Round Arts Access:

We are committed to nurturing our student’s artistic talents and creativity. With our new schedule, students can access visual arts and music education throughout the school year.  Whether it’s visual arts, music, drama, or dance, Lincoln School Middle School students can explore and express their creativity consistently, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Design, Curiosity, and Creativity (Exploratory):

We are excited to continue our Exploratory Program, focusing on design, curiosity, and creativity. This course will continue to empower students to think outside the box, explore innovative ideas, and develop critical problem-solving skills.  Through hands-on projects and collaborative learning, Lincoln School students can unleash their imaginations and passions.

The two most important qualities of creativity are thinking outside the box and passionately pursuing knowledge.

Expansion of our Health and Wellness Program:

We have set aside time throughout the week for our middle school students to support their health education further. The growth and development of middle school students are significantly impacted by health and wellness learning.  Health education is a distinct course besides physical education, enhancing student learning opportunities in these two critical areas of healthy adolescent development.

Personalized Guidance and Mentorship through our Advisory Program:

The Lincoln School Advisory Program contributes to improved academic performance and positive relationships. Advisory classes provide designated mentors for each student, fostering a strong student-teacher relationship. This personalized guidance helps students set goals, navigate challenges, and make informed academic and personal growth decisions. Our Advisory Program focuses on four strands: Social-Emotional, Service Learning, Academics, and Community.

We are confident that our Advisory Program will continue to provide valuable support and guidance to our students as they progress through their middle school years. These classes are aligned with our commitment to holistic education and creating an environment where each student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters growth and development in all areas of their lives.
