Faculty Spotlight: Mr. Vance Appleby

Vance Appleby joins Lincoln most recently from one of our sister schools, the American International School of Dhaka, but has also worked at the International School of Manila, as well as in his hometown of Wichita, Kansas. He said his favorite thing about being an international teacher is “We get to focus on the learning. At Lincoln, students really want to learn.” Another of Vance’s first impressions of Lincoln was amazement at how a small school is able to offer such a wide range of courses, and he feels the VHS program really supports this. Vance considers himself a lifelong learner and said that he recently learned the way to predict if a chemical bond is ionic or covalent is based on the difference in electronegativity. “I love figuring out how the world works,” he shared. We are excited to have Vance sharing his love of learning with our students.
