Arts Wednesday– Where’s the Treasure?!

Grade 2 & Grade 3 Artists created treasure maps and learned basic mapping concepts, including map keys, landmarks, and the importance of the compass rose (showing North, South, East, & West).
After learning about and creating treasure maps, our students wanted to create REAL treasure for their buddy classes. Artists filled a treasure chest with amazing handmade treasures (“gold” necklaces, money, and jewels!), then took our littlest students on a treasure hunt on campus. It was amazing fun with so much learning embedded in this exciting activity!
