Grade 6 Enjoys an Action-Packed Service Nepal!

Grade 6 students explored Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park and the village of Kafleni on Service Nepal! The first days were spent rock climbing, rappelling, and strengthening the class community. On Wednesday, we made the six-hour hike to Kafleni where we enjoyed Smores, UNO, and beautiful sunrises. The highlight of our trip was visiting the Shina Bharirab Local School and learning more about Nepali culture. We were greeted with marigold garlands, dancing, and singing. Students also got to see a water mill, natural spring, and rainwater catchment to answer our essential question, “Why is water important, and how can we conserve it?” Grade 6 students left their Service Nepal trip with stronger friendships, new experiences, and a deeper understanding of water and culture in Nepal.
