Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! We are especially excited to be celebrating Lincoln’s 65th year! It has been a great first week. We look forward to seeing you all at the upcoming Welcome Picnic. Go Snow Leopards!
The Elementary and Middle Schools came together last Friday, May 24, to participate in a Fun Finale Swim Meet that also included neighbors, Nisarga Batika School. Almost 50 young Snow Leopard swimmers ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 8 showcased their skill development in the four competitive strokes. A special thanks to all the parents who came out to support their children, as well as to our PE and Aquatics teams for their efforts. Congratulations to all participants!
On Thursday, May 23, the Class of 2019 hosted a memorable Graduation Dinner that included family, close friends and Lincoln School faculty and staff. While the event was hosted by long-time Lincoln students, Prakriti and Vishesh, each graduating senior had an opportunity to deliver a speech to the almost 200 people present highlighting their time both at Lincoln and in Nepal, as well as thanking all the influential individuals who have been a part of their lives. The speeches were quality, the food delicious, and a wonderful evening was had by all. Congratulations to the Class of 2019 and their proud families!
The Class of 2019 walked Lincoln School’s campus for their final time as Seniors last Friday. The students’ parents, fellow Snow Leopard students, faculty, staff, custodians, guards and drivers came out in droves to cheer on the graduates. Students and staff lined the hallways showering the Seniors with glitter and confetti, congratulating them on their accomplishments before the Class of 2019 did one final dance in “Lincoln’s Got Talent” with their P1/G1 buddies! What a Walk, Class of 2019!
On Saturday, May 25, the Class of 2019 graced the stage for their final time as Lincoln School Seniors. These students have been wonderful ambassadors for the school in the areas of academics, arts, athletics and service, exemplifying the school’s core values each step of the way. The students’ families, friends and Lincoln School staff were beaming with pride during the commencement ceremony. Congratulations, Class of 2019!
The High School Prom was a smashing success as over 75% of the high school student-body attended. The students were moving and grooving all through the night as the DJ kept the records playing. Snow Leopard prints were all over the dance floor!
Special thanks goes out to the Prom committee, that was led by senior, Ishika.
This Tuesday, the grade five students and their families got together for the highly anticipated grade five moving up celebration. The students flexed their memoir writing and presentation skills as they looked back on the year and spoke about lessons learned. The audience was then treated to a video from the overnight field trip the students went on earlier this month. As has been the case for the past couple of years, the students and their families then took part in a “Guess the Baby” game. There were more than a couple “Awwwws” and plenty of laughter as the school year comes to an end in grade five.
Thanks to all those who came to celebrate with us!
Eight teams from around the Kathmandu Valley, including two representing the Snow Leopards, participated in a Lincoln School organized and hosted 14&U, 8-a-side, Football tournament on Saturday, May 18. The level of skill, sportsmanship and teamwork on display was evident in all teams with local club team, SWSCFA, finishing as tournament champions. Congratulations to all involved!
